IC weekend

These were some of the most disappointing races ive ever done.
On Sat. i went down to Sharron Center for the rad race. This was my first ever Cat 4 event, and i struggled. The wind was absolutely horrible with gusts over 50 mph. The couse was essentially a triangle with a tail/cross, tail, then straight into the wind. I got dropped about 18 miles in on the headwind. I ended up riding by my self in the vicious headwind because everyone around me quit. I finished dead last(but still finished).
The next day was the crit. This was a big race for me because seeing the juniors race last year by accident led me to finally get a road bike. In the morning i went to the juniors race which was a LAJORS event. ISCorp dominated with the win. I was in the group for about 2 laps then feel out with out really realizing it on the downhill. I rode with a guy from baraboo for the rest of the race and got lapped at the last second, i forgot about the free lap and didnt sprint for the 9th place. The Cat 4. sucked getting second to last place.
This weekend was really depressing, but i figure i got to deep improving right.

Recovery Ride

I was still real sore form Mondays ride and just overall feeling crappy. I had decided after taking Tues off i had to go for a little while at least. It was an easy 1 hr 20 mile ride around the toddvile circuit 1.5 times including a few more times than usual up hawks haven rd. I think the ride help gettin the acid out of those legs.

P.S. just shaved my legs for old cap, cant wait

The result is exactly like everyone expected. Clinton wins by 10 points and nothing changes. This contest is getting extremely boring.

Old cap registration

Just pre-registered for old capitol weekend.
Im really excited at the fact that this is my first big race of my cycling career. Gonna start out with the road race on Saturday, which should be interesting. Sunday im doin the junior race in the morning then the Cat 4 race in the afternoon. Not planning on doing amazingly well considering the fact that i corner horribly and i'll have to deal with Cat 2 and 3s in the junior race.

My body has shut down

I went for a ride with some of the team yesterday, and it might of been my worst ride ever. I got dropped very soon which is never a good sign on a 60 mile ride to lisbon and mtvernon. There was a 20 minute period where my heart rate never dropped below 190. I want to thank Jason for staying with me while i was struggling so badly. After we took Mt. Vernon Rd back into town i went north to get home on the trail, my entire body was aching and it was just painful to sit on my saddle. I called my mom who picked me up at Dairy Queen where i put down an Oreo blizzard. I got home and just layed on my couch for hours. I was starting to run a fever, couldnt eat, was cramping, back sprain, and hand pains.
Absolutely horrible

Model UN

I spent Fri and Sat at a Model Un conference in Cedar Falls. Ive always been interested in these topics so it was a chance to get involved. Although it was a bit boring at times(i cured with a crossword) it is still amazing to think the truly large of amount of globalazation in the world today.
Even in a mock high school conference the abilities for countries to discuss and control one another is amazing, and sometimes scary. But at the same time the positive effects of need to be recognized as a way to multilateral movement and rationale in the international political scene.

Obamas comments

There has been plenty of issues made over his comments referring to the working class and its problems.
To me i dont feel like this should be a big deal it all. A simple statement of Sociology is taken as resenting for the forces of being politically correct.

Oval

Did another Night at the Oval this past Tuesday. An unbelievable head wind out of the south that was right during the sprint.
Choose to do the A group cause B was lookin crowded, big mistake. Still wasnt over what ever i had during Finchford and the weekend. My strategy was to see how long it took till i got lapped by Eastburn. Rick felt bad for me and relegated me to the B group where i won attacking about 400 meters to go from a group of about 5.
Even if you do horrible the Oval is still fun.
